Schlumberger Introduces AxeBlade Ridged Diamond Element Bit

Smith Parts, a Schlumberger company, announced today the launch of the AxeBlade* ridged stone element bit, which comprises not old -geometry Ax* ridged stone components across the bit face. AxeBlade bits enhance rate of transmission (ROP) in a broad range of clusters and directing response in online applications.

“The drillbit market is performance-powered and attempts poly crystalline diamond compact (PDC) parts that provide distinguished performance in ROP,” said Murat Aksoy, president, Pieces & Drilling Tools, Schlumberger. “The reducing efficiency produced by the AxeBlade bit handles our clients by helping to lessen the expense of drilling procedures ’ wants.”

The most recent generation of Cruz Pieces three-dimensional Axe components, cutting technologies have an unique form shape that joins the shearing action of a conventional PDC bit with the crushing action of a roller cone bit. The unique geometry of the element smashes rock better, requiring pressure that is 30% less. When drilling directionally additionally, it produces enhanced control compared with standard PDC blades.
